Remote Hub Support
Remote Hub turns your Android phone into a remote for the smart TVs and streaming devices on your Wi-Fi network. If something is not working, the answers below cover the most common problems. If they do not help, email us and we will reply within two working days.
My TV does not show up
- Make sure the phone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks, mobile hotspots and networks with "AP isolation" or "client isolation" enabled block the discovery traffic the app relies on.
- Turn the TV fully on (not standby) and wait a few seconds, then pull down on the device list to search again.
- On many TVs, network remote control has to be enabled once in the TV's own settings. Look for options such as Mobile device manager, Network remote control, LG Connect Apps or Remote control by mobile apps.
- Restart the TV and the router if the problem started suddenly.
The TV shows up but will not connect or asks to pair
Most TVs ask you to approve the phone the first time you connect. Watch the TV screen for a prompt and select Allow, or enter the PIN the TV displays into the app. If you denied the request by mistake, remove Remote Hub from the TV's list of allowed devices in the TV settings and try again.
Some buttons do nothing
Not every TV supports every command over the network. Power on, for example, only works on TVs that support Wake on LAN or a "quick start" mode that is switched on in the TV settings. Volume and input controls may be unavailable when the TV is playing from certain sources.
Screen mirroring does not start or is laggy
Remote Hub opens your phone's system casting settings. For selected photos and videos, it opens a compatible media app that you choose. The phone, TV and media app determine which casting options are available and manage the casting session.
- Mirroring works on TVs that accept a standard casting stream. Some older models do not support it.
- Mirroring uses a lot of Wi-Fi bandwidth. Move closer to the router, or switch both devices to the 5 GHz band.
- Protected content (for example some streaming apps) cannot be mirrored and shows a black screen. This is enforced by the content apps, not by Remote Hub.
Ads and Remote Hub Premium
The free version is supported by ads. Remote Hub Premium removes all ads. Subscriptions are managed by Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions to change or cancel. If you subscribed but still see ads, reinstall the app while signed in to the same Google account, and your purchase will be restored automatically.
To change your advertising consent choices, open Settings in the app and tap Personalized Ads.
Privacy questions
What the app does with data is explained in the Privacy Policy. To have any analytics data linked to your installation deleted, email us from the address above.
Request deletion of Remote Hub data
- Email arshpreet@billionweb.co with the subject Remote Hub data deletion.
- Tell us whether you want support correspondence deleted or want help deleting analytics and crash data associated with your app installation. Include information that helps us identify the request, such as the email address used for earlier support. Do not send passwords, pairing PINs or payment card details.
- We will follow up if we need information to locate the relevant installation records. Remote Hub has no user account, so an email address alone may not identify pseudonymous analytics or crash records.
We delete identifiable support correspondence on request and request deletion of identifiable installation data held by Firebase. Aggregated records that cannot be linked to an installation cannot be located for individual deletion. Until deleted, user-level analytics follow the configured retention of up to 14 months and crash reports up to 90 days. Google independently manages Play purchase and advertising records under its own policies; cancelling a subscription is separate from requesting data deletion.
Saved TVs, pairing details and settings stay on your phone. Clear Remote Hub's app storage in Android settings or uninstall the app to remove those local records. This does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
Report a bug
When you email us, please include your phone model, Android version, the TV brand and model, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Screenshots or a short screen recording help a lot.
