Billing and subscriptions
How much is it? Premium is $59.99 per year or $14.99 per month, each starting with a 3 day free trial for new subscribers. From time to time the app offers a discounted annual plan at $29.99 or $35.99 per year with no trial, and a one time Lifetime purchase at $99.99. Prices are in US dollars and the App Store shows your local price before you buy. There is no weekly plan.
How do I cancel? Open Profile, then Settings, and tap Manage subscription. Or go to the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Bible Verse, then Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the current period ends.
I cancelled during the trial. Will I be charged? No. Cancel any time before the 3 days end and nothing is charged.
I want a refund. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, and we genuinely cannot issue one. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Bible Verse and request a refund. If Apple declines and you believe that is wrong, email us and we will help however we can.
I paid but the app still shows me the Premium screen. Open Profile, then Settings, and tap Restore subscription. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you used to subscribe. That is almost always enough. If it is not, email us and tell us the Apple ID email you purchased with, and we will sort it out.
I changed phones and lost my favorites or streak. If you were signed in with Apple or Google with Auto backup turned on, sign in with the same account on the new phone and your favorites, collections, streak and settings come back. Without an account, Bible Verse keeps everything on the device, so nothing transfers unless you restored from an iPhone backup. Email us and we will tell you what we can do.
Account
How do I delete my account? Open Profile, then Settings, then Account and backup, and tap Delete account. This removes your synced data and your account straight away. It does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription belongs to your Apple ID. Cancel that in your Apple subscription settings.
Do I need an account? No. Everything works without one. An account only adds backup so your data follows you to a new phone.
Widgets and Lock Screen
The widget is not showing up. Long press an empty part of your Home Screen, tap the + in the top corner, search for Bible Verse, choose a size and add it. For the Lock Screen, long press the Lock Screen, tap Customize, tap the widget area and pick Bible Verse. If Bible Verse does not appear in the list, open the app once first, then try again.
The widget is showing yesterday's verse. Widgets are refreshed by iOS on its own schedule, not by us. Opening the app updates it immediately. If it stays stuck for more than a day, remove the widget and add it again.
Reminders
I am not getting my reminders. Open the Settings app, find Bible Verse, tap Notifications, and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Then check your times inside the app under Profile, Reminders. Reminders are local to your phone, so they work with no internet.
Prayer chat
Chat says I have reached my limit. The free version includes a few messages a day. Premium includes many more, and the count resets each day.
The reply looks wrong. Replies are generated by an AI model and can be wrong. Please tell us what you asked and what it said, and we will look at it. We take this seriously, particularly anything that reads as speaking for God or giving medical or mental health advice, because the app is not supposed to do either.
Chat is not working. Chat and the Premium voices need the internet. Everything else works offline. Check your connection first.
Content
Which translation do you use? The World English Bible. It is in the public domain, which is what lets Bible Verse include the full text without a licence fee.
Why not the NIV or the ESV? Those translations are copyrighted and licensing them is not possible at this app's price.
I think a prayer, quote or affirmation is wrong, unfair or off. Please tell us. Include the text or a screenshot. The content is written to be broadly Christian, non denominational and fair to the text. When it fails at that, we want to fix it.
Privacy
Bible Verse shows no ads, never reads your device's advertising identifier and never asks permission to track you. An account is optional: everything works without one.
Without an account, your favorites, streak and settings stay on your phone. If you sign in with Apple or Google, Bible Verse can back them up to our cloud database so they follow you to a new phone, and you can delete your account and that backup from Profile, Settings, Account and backup at any time.
What leaves your phone? Chat messages and text read by a Premium voice go to our server and OpenAI to write or speak a reply, and we do not keep your messages. The app also counts usage, so we can see which features people use, and sends a crash report when it breaks. None of it is used for advertising or sold to anyone. Accessibility
Bible Verse supports Dynamic Type at every size, including the largest accessibility sizes, and VoiceOver labelling. If something is hard to read or does not work with VoiceOver, that is a bug worth reporting and we will fix it.
