Privacy Policy

Data that stays on your device

Everything you create in Rooster is stored locally on your iPhone:

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

Purchases

Rooster Pro subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email address or payment details.

To know whether Pro is unlocked, the app checks your purchases with Apple's StoreKit directly on your device. We may also use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions; when enabled, it receives your App Store receipt, a randomly generated anonymous identifier and Apple's privacy-preserving Search Ads attribution token (which App Store ad, if any, led to the install — campaign-level only) — nothing that identifies you personally.

Anonymous analytics and crash reports

To understand which features are used and make the app better, Rooster sends anonymous usage signals (for example "alarm armed" or "onboarding completed") to Google Firebase Analytics. These signals contain no personal information, no alarm times and no alarm content. They are grouped under a random identifier created for your install of the app — it is not your name, email or phone number, and we never use the advertising identifier (IDFA), ad personalization or any advertising features. If you delete the app, that identifier is deleted with it.

If the app crashes, a crash report (stack trace, device model, iOS version) is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix the problem. Crash reports are anonymous and are not linked to your identity.

What we don't do

Permissions the app asks for

Rooster requests permissions only when a feature needs them: alarm scheduling (so alarms ring through Silent and Do Not Disturb), notifications, camera, motion and NFC. Each permission is used solely for the alarm feature it belongs to, and you can change any of them in iOS Settings at any time.

Children

Rooster is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because Rooster holds no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you would like the anonymous identifiers RevenueCat or Firebase hold for your device deleted, or have any other privacy request, email us and we'll take care of it within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
